Patti Flinn and Dr. Bond will share a facts and myths about the first French Revolution, and why Flinn chose this man and his story to write about. There will be an author Q & A and book signing.
Patti Flinn is an award-winning author of contemporary, romance, and historical fiction from Columbus, Ohio. Her earlier varied titles reflect her love of all fiction genres and include: The List, The Diva of Peddler’s Creek, Glorious Sunset, the IVYHURST series, and Alaya and Her Sparkling River. In 2022, Flinn began writing fiction set before and during the French Revolution, inspired by the life of Louis-Benoit Zamor (1762-1820). The award-winning Véronique’s Journey and Véronique’s Moon novellas feature a character who will become prominent in his story. The Last Favorite's Page trilogy is comprised of The Greatest Thing (Book One), The Devil’s Berries (Book Two) and The Truest Son of France (Book Three, forthcoming).
Elizabeth Andrews Bond is an associate professor of History at The Ohio State University. She is a specialist in the history of print and public opinion, the social history of ideas, the cultural history of the Enlightenment, and the French Revolution. She joined The Ohio State University Department of History in 2015. Professor Bond is the author of The Writing Public: Participatory Knowledge Production in Enlightenment and Revolutionary France (Cornell University Press, 2021), a history of the thousands of readers and writers who participated in the Enlightenment and the French Revolution by writing to their local newspapers.
