Join The Stand Project, Syntero and counselors from UA Middle Schools to discuss Jesse Weinberger's book titled The Boogeyman Exists and He's In Your Child's Back Pocket.
The Boogeyman Exists author Jesse Weinberger asks "Do you know how to keep your children safe in a 24-7, always connected, digital society?" As your children travel through the digital world they may be exposed to cyberbullying, sexting, sexual predation and illegal substances. The discussion about digital safety needs to begin the very first time your child uses a tablet or smartphone with a parent or guardian sitting right next to them.
Join The Stand Project for a discussion of Community Read book titled The Boogeyman Exists and He's In Your Child's Back Pocket. The discussion will be geared toward parents of middle school students and will be led by counselors from Jones and Hastings Middle Schools to talk about strategies for digital safety, how to have that conversation with your child, and why it's important to have that conversation early and often.
This program is presented as a collaboration of The Stand Project, Syntero and counselors from Upper Arlington Schools. For information about the Community Read, please visit www.thestandprojectua.org
