Join photography professor, Claire Wiedman on a wild ride of science and art, which all began with a little girl asking her father why she couldn't see the photograph they had just taken together.
Beginning with the Land Camera in the late 1940's, Polaroid led the charge of instant photography and became a household name. These ubiquitous square images were everywhere in the 1950's-70's - from the family album to the fashion industry and even the art museum. Although digital technologies eclipsed instant photography in terms of sales, enduring nostalgia compelled a later revival through the Impossible Project, Fuji Instax, and even Instagram built their platform to emulate the look and feel of Polaroid.
