A book club for music fans: band histories, musician memoirs, scene chronicles, studio legends, and more.
If you like digging into backstories as much as listening to music, join us to discuss books, the occasional documentary or podcast, listen to music, and watch performance clips.
Because no one wants to spend time reading a book they don't like, each month we pick a theme and everyone gets to pick their own book to read. If the theme is Music Festivals, one person could read about Woodstock, another Coachella, and another the Montreaux Jazz Festival. Each person will bring something a little different to the conversation, and (hopefully) everyone will leave with another title for their to-read list.
Monthly Topics:
March-- Autobiographies and memoirs: musicians in their own words
April-- The influence of religion or philosophy on a genre, a band, or a musician
May-- The Vietnam War and music
Meeting Location: the Sue Hutson Reading Room, located at the back of the Adult Department.
Our knowledgeable staff specialize in Adult, Youth, Reference, Media, Computer, and Outreach Services to meet the diverse needs of our patrons.
