Join UAPL and Sustainable UA as we celebrate the sustainable initiatives happening in our community. This should be a fun and educational event for all ages.
We will have local organizations sharing information, hands-on activities for, and programs for families.
Our parking lot will be a place to donate books, household items, recycle electronics & styrofoam, and an opportunity to donate used bicycles to local non-profit, Franklinton Cycle Works. The OSU BUGmobile, a mobile bug zoo, classroom, and laboratory, will also be outside and will provide some unique insight into these animals who are so important to food and other ecosystems around the world Inside.
Circular Thrift will be collecting donations of gently used clothing and fashion accessories for our clothing swap on April 19th.
The youth activity area will be hosting a Sustainability Storytime in the morning for our younger stewards of the earth. We will also have presentations about the impacts of fashion on the planet & how to create a sustainable wardrobe, and on how to create a more sustainable yard through the Franklin Soil & Water Community Backyards program.
We hope everyone who attends this event walks away with some actionable items they can do to make sustainable changes!
