Curator, Jolie Braun will share highlights from the Rare Books & Manuscripts Library’s (RBML) cookbook collection, which contains nearly 10,000 volumes.
Come learn about why historical cookbooks matter and what they can tell us about food and cooking trends, ideas about taste, nutrition, and health, and the values and concerns of the era in which they were created. Attendees will also have an opportunity to hear about some of the materials on display in the Thompson Library exhibition featuring RBML’s cookbook collection, Essential Ingredients: Cookbooks as History, which runs August 20, 2024-January 5, 2025.
