A free community program from FCACO

2:00pm - 3:00pm
Tremont Road Branch
Meeting Room BPlanning for your funeral can save your family stress and money. Join us for a friendly, informative hour that covers your rights, options, and the forms that matter most.
Planning a funeral is one of the most caring things you can do for the people you love — but most of us don't know where to start. This free, one-hour presentation from the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Central Ohio covers everything you need to know to make informed, confident decisions before a death occurs.
We'll walk through:
Your rights as a consumer — what funeral homes are required to tell you and provide in writing
Pre-planning vs. pre-paying — why planning ahead is valuable, and why we recommend caution before signing any prepaid contract
Burial and disposition options — from traditional burial and cremation to green burial and body donation
Key documents and forms — what to complete, where to keep them, and who needs a copy
How to compare funeral home prices — using the FTC's Funeral Rule to shop with confidence
There will be time for questions throughout, and all are welcome — whether you're planning for yourself or helping a family member think ahead.
