For decades, LIFE Magazine was a cornerstone of American news reporting and cultural sharing; it produced some of the most iconic images of the 20th century.
What made LIFE so compelling, and who were the photographers behind some of these memorable images?
Our Research Department has most of the entire run of Life Magazine from its relaunch in 1937 to its final issue in 2000, (we are missing 1973-1978). The bound volumes are kept in storage but we will have a selection of them available in the theater before the program on April 18th. Come by as early as 3:30 and we will have a selection on display for you to look through. If you do not get a chance to browse them that afternoon, stop by the Research desk anytime and staff will be happy to bring issues out!
Our knowledgeable staff specialize in Adult, Youth, Reference, Media, Computer, and Outreach Services to meet the diverse needs of our patrons.
