Unraveling the Truth: How Fashion Impacts Our Planet & What We Can Do About It
Priscila Teixeira is a veteran in the fashion industry with over 30 years of experience spanning continents, corporations, and small businesses. She launched her first sustainable fashion venture in the ‘90s, reselling vintage clothes and accessories—long before sustainability was a mainstream conversation. Today, she continues that mission as the Founder and CEO of Columbus Fashion Academy, a pioneering social enterprise based in Upper Arlington since 2017, where she educates youth and adults on sustainable fashion. She also leads The Fashion Community, a newly formed 501(c)(3) human services agency dedicated to cultivating creativity, connecting and empowering people while caring for the planet.
Beyond the data, she will equip attendees with real, actionable solutions—how to shop intentionally, extend the life of garments, mend with purpose, and responsibly dispose of clothing. Sustainability isn’t just a trend; it’s a responsibility. As adults, educators, and parents, we must lead by example, modeling values of care and connection for the next generation. Expect an engaging, intergenerational conversation packed with insights and practical takeaways that everyone can apply.
