Author Erik Jon Slangerup grew up in a magical time, before cell phones or the internet. It was called the 80s. He spent most of it roaming outdoors unsupervised, which inspired him to write tales of adventure. Molly and the Machine is his debut middle-grade novel, out June 7, 2022 by Simon & Schuster/Aladdin Books. The sequel, Molly and the Mutants, will follow in 2023.
Erik has also written several picture books, including the award-winning Dirt Boy, and co-created StorySnacker, the Webby-nominated read-aloud app ranked “Top 5 Apps in the World for Family and Kids.” Erik is the father of five, which has been his biggest adventure yet. He lives in Columbus, Ohio.
This event is presented in partnership with Cover to Cover Books for Young Readers, which will be on site to sell copies of Mr. Slangerup's books. Registration is required and opens May 28 at 10 am.
