Speaker Bio:
Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) has served Central Ohio’s working families in Congress since 2013. A trailblazing leader, she is the Ranking Member of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on National Security, Illicit Finance, and International Financial Institutions, co-chairs the bipartisan Financial Literacy and Wealth Creation Caucus, and is Chair Emerita of the Congressional Black Caucus. Beatty is a fierce advocate for equity, voting rights, and healthcare access. She played a leading role in the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Juneteenth Federal Holiday. Prior to her service in the U.S. House of Representatives, Beatty was senior vice president of outreach and engagement at The Ohio State University and was the first female Democratic House Leader in Ohio’s state legislature. Beatty holds degrees from Central State University and Wright State University. She is also a proud grandmother, an award-winning public servant, and actively engaged in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and The Links, Inc.
